outsiders poem

Looking through that glass
That separates you
From the rest of the world
You're all alone
On the outside looking in

Shining through you find
Blooming flowers
And warm smiles
To greet you around every corner

Looking like innocent
Curiosity
Within the depths
Of their stares
You feel the glances
And glares
Glued to you're back
Ignoring them
With your chin held high
You walk past it all

You hear
The bees buzzing
Towards blossoming
Buttercups
The peaceful hymns
Around you
Whispering in the wind
You see
The gushing fountain
Carry all your loneliness
Away

As the days prolong
And the days drag on
You feel more at home
Then you ever imagined
For
In someplace
You're outside
That glass
Looking in
With the rest
Of the world
Finally,
You belong
